So, my truck Idling has a very low temp. 100 to maybe 125. I pull a flatbed and when I’m empty, it doesn’t get over 150. When I’m loaded the temp will come up, usually to 180 to 200 range.
If the temp is in the teens, even loaded, it’s struggling to keep the temp up that high.
I was idling the other night in 13 degree weather and the truck shut off on me.
It did need to regen but usually it just does it on its own and I don’t have to do it. I woke up and did a regen but I cut off again after that.
I cranked it and just went a delivered my load and hauled butt home.
I’m thinking sensor or thermostat.
That being said, my fan does not seem to stop. It’s not running hard. It’s just constantly turning.
I didn’t think it moving slow would affect the temp but I’m not a mechanic and that’s why I’m asking.
Been driving a long time but to be completely honest, I’m not the most mechanical person.
I can admit that.
I hoping though, this is something, I may be able to diagnose and fix myself.
If anyone has any ideas, please share them with me.
