I’m fairly certain I’ve got a wiring issue going on with my oil pressure gauge. Immediately upon key on gauge sweeps, but instead of returning to zero, it pegs at 6 o’clock, gives me warning light and beeps. I replaced the oil pressure sensor in the engine with no effect. No codes showing at all. Where do I start?

Usually in the wiring. What engine?

it’s an ISX. got good voltage at the sensor, I’m pretty sure its
Somewhere in the chassis side, just can’t seem to find the exact routing for how the oil pressure gauge is wired through the BCM to the cluster so I can follow all of that.

From what I've read, on Internationals when a gauge pegs out at 6 o'clock, its a diagnostic cue that there's a fault with that branch of the electrical system.

    mg1224 Thanks this.

It transmits from the engine ecm to the instrument cluster on the J1939 datalink. I’d double check the wires close to the sensor, a lot of times those sensor let oil through the body and wick up the wires.

Good to know. I’ll look that direction a little more closely then.

Can anyone tell me what the voltage and resistance readings should be, on both sensor and harness side? I had it pulled up last night , and now my QuickServe won’t even show me the service manual or code lookup, so I can’t get links to the troubleshooting tree for this. It’s code 141 or SPN 100 FMI 4. Thanks in advance.

The instrument panel gets its gauge data through the J1939 data link. If there are no faults in the engine ECM from the oil pressure sensor or the data link then the problem is most likely in the instrument panel. A new circuit board or a repaired exchange circuit board for the instrument panel is available from Navistar.
