So, can I unadjust my auto adjust clutch to loosen it back up?

You can reset the clutch to new. Release the clutch and push the wear tab back to new. Actuating the clutch several times should restore the clutch to the properly adjusted setting. Note… I said should.

A shop will know what this means?

‘Tis a waste of time to attempt to reset a solo just to try to get it to adjust IMO. If it was going to an adjust further, it should allready be there from normal use and operating.

    Any shop? Doubt it.

A good one will know what to do without asking or know where to go to find the service information to work on it.

I think it adjusted too far, no?
    Disengagement is the issue.

I'm trying to avoid a $3000 clutch job when the old one isn't slipping at all....

Your issue is that the clutch is not releasing. It has nothing to do with the clutch slipping. Eventually it will get to the point where it will be impossible to even get it in gear from drag.

Have a shop check the adjustment
, either it’s in spec or it’s not. My advice, save your money and replace it when it gets to the point you don’t trust it. Sure sounds like you’re allready there to me.

I only just learned what it was in this thread.

    Most likely replace in January.

I'll have a shop look at it when I find one that isn't in a truck stop. Thanks

My local mechanic told me I can only do a solo clutch because I have a hydraulic clutch.
He said that interference between that and the adjustment nut will not allow adjustment once installed?

Also is $2800-3600usd a good price for a full clutch job?

You can install a manual adjust and there is room to adjust on 579 with hydraulic clutch.

Solo is often recommended as it can be hard to tell when adjustments are needed.
