If it's blocked on both ends then why do you care?

This is the problem with deletes, apart from the legal issue. Most of the mechanics that do it have no idea what they are doing and the none of them seem to know the consequences.

I'm curious. Anybody know of a deleted DD15 that has gone a million miles?

because when at idle there is a ticking sound coming from the engine, and when accelerating there is a crackling sound coming from the engine. (egr cooler has a opening where air can enter from)

The coolant flow through the egr cooler is still needed for other parts of the head. Perhaps the stress is caused by the head expanding while warming up and the egr cooler is not at the expected rate.

I would unblock the egr my truck is bypassed but egr cooler is active
