Hey fellow truckers, I just purchased a 2017 Peterbilt with an 1991 Detroit 60 series glider from Fitzgerald. I’m trying to install my Qualcomm in this truck I ordered the 9 pin green harness from Qualcomm, they said it’s the one that fits this truck. I turn on the switch and powers up the ELD but when I do the diagnostic everything checks out except core data items and shows ignition is off! I go down the road and doesn’t put me on as driving. Is there a fix, has anyone ran across this and can lead me in the direction to fix it? I did research and says that 2000 and older models doesn’t have to have an ELD but this is a 2001 build so I’m thinking I have to have an ELD. Please help I’m at my wits end and so is Qualcomm.

What part of your truck is a 2001? I have a 2015 Fitzgerald Glider with a 1996 Detroit and it talks to my ELD with no issues, but it is not a Qualcomm. It is my understanding that a 2000 motor or later needs to use an ELD. If yours is a 1991 Detroit you would not need an ELD.

I checked with Detroit Diesel in Knoxville, they informed me it’s a 1991 from the engine serial numbers, so guessing it’s 1991. What ELD are you using maybe it’s the Qualcomm?

I currently use Magnus ELD and the Samsara camera system with no issues.
