The first time I had a truck Regen, the noises freaked me out. Had no idea what was going on.
Buy Lucas Deep Clean. Amazon has it. Hard to find in stores .
I use it every 3 months or so and no build up of gunk in EGR/dpf etc... 500k miles and still had clean dpf. 60 bucks a bottle . Worth the money.

    Brandon0928 Thanks this.

You just add it in with the def ? I’ve always been told by Peterbilt and other shops I’ve spoken with to not add any sort of additive to the def

If you add it to the DEF, it will never reach the EGR and DPF in order to clean it. You should never have to add anything to DEF. As far as additives cleaning your DPF, I'm not really sold on it. Unless it enlarges the pathways in the DPF filter, or it shrinks the size of the ash particles, I don't see how it will work on a properly functioning system. I can see maybe reducing soot upstream of the filter, or burning soot more efficiently in the DPF, but that soot will turn into ash and continue to accumulate.

No. It goes in fuel. It cleans all that carbon and crap out that clogs the EGR cooler, EGR tubs, sensors and dpf.
    It works amazingly well.
I've found that Howes diesel treat causes problems just in case you use it. I no longer have to keep replacing dpf pressure sensors since I quit using it. Also in tests on additives that claim to lubricate, it was either number 1 or 2 on the bad list. They used the beating on roller test . It ate up the bearing badly. There is a video of the test on YouTube.
