No I don’t use factoring, or any quick pay that the broker takes a percentage of. I had enough cushion to wait for the money to roll in when I started, and it’s been fairly steady since then. The things that killed me are the downtime due to unusual repairs like the new hood. The body shop took a good 2 weeks total time that I could have been working. Then the differential then went out 600 miles from home cost me 3 days work. I’m not going broke by any means, but I’m a good $20,000 behind where I thought I’d be by now.

I'm not getting rich but I'm pretty happy that can take home about 60% of gross (I think) at this grossing about 5 grand a week on average. No complaints!Rideandrepair, Oxbow and Scooter Jones Thank this. -

These numbers have included a 2016 "emissions/DEF" truck payment I bought new in the beginning of my authority in December 2015 as well as a 2016 van payment I bought new.
My ending 3 year maintenance costs (on 305,000 miles) were 0.05 a mile on the truck and 0.01 on the trailer.
I've had no major emissions related issues on the truck, with the exception of the EGR valve, which was just replaced under warranty and some other sensor they replaced under warranty at the same time.
I preferred to go the new truck route when I started up, for various reasons. Not to mention a lifetime fuel average of 7.3 mpg.CorsairFanboy, Broke Down 69, Vic Firth and 4 others Thank this. -

It takes a lot of planning and good timing to make it work. I've gotten to where deadhead miles aren't that big of a deal to me, so long as I can hit a decent rolling miles average.Broke Down 69, beastr123, Ruthless and 3 others Thank this.
