That’s hella good IMO. It’s always good to see someone that does well in that corridor. All I ever hear are negatives. But, those people are generally from the Midwest or East, trying to go back.
Nobody considers the short game it seems.

Okay, I figured since my work year is officially over, I'd polish up my initial numbers.
I just ran an annual report from my logging software. I'm done for the rest of the year, so the numbers are accurate. Dry van operation in the PNW I-5 corridor only, all spot freight.
I'm right at 200k revenue for the year. Out of the logged 69,543 annual miles, at least 4,000 of those are pc miles too. Many of those 213 "worked days" were also days when I was back home in my own bed for the night.
One of things I determined when I got into this as an owner operator was I was not going to be like a migrant worker who follows the harvest. Home time is a high priority for me. Being an owner operator has it's responsibilities, however, there should be a reasonable amount of privilege that goes with it, in my opinion, of course.
It can be done...
I cropped out my name on the report so as not to incriminate myself LOL.

Very nice! I didn't match you but I think one thing a lot of people on here don't think about is cost of living wherever you happen to live. For where I live, I did amazingly well (IMHO) at about $1.95/mile all miles for my first 6 mos. authority. Do the math on 50,000 miles for this 6 mo. period and there's my gross. I doubled, almost tripled my income from a big company I spent 25 years with before OTR.
I chose to run hard the last 6 where I don't have to run in bad weather this winter. I'll get motivated more in the Spring. For now I'm going to follow the weather and work 4 days/week.
Like you Scooter, my focus is getting everything prepaid and saved for this coming year. So far maintenance fund is at $30k and I'm 1 month ahead on fixed costs. Paying the truck off this year is my biggest goal, I should be ahead like you by next year at this time.
Here's what I love about having my authority. Planned this past week to be home this morning, today being Friday the 21. Done for the year. Not headed back out until Jan. 2 at least. No running around in holiday traffic for me.CorsairFanboy and Scooter Jones Thank this. -
We are surrounded by our children & grandkids. So, I'm not going ANYWHERE!CorsairFanboy, Broke Down 69, Mr.hustle and 2 others Thank this. -
Of course, I can only guess that gross and the rate per mil numbers are superior to most of us - solo independents with a dry van. Congrats! I could learn from you... -
