I have a 2018 Freightliner Cadcadia with 193k on it. Automatic. Today it is acting very strange it will kick out of cruise control and beep and say on daah "STARTER BLOCKED SHIFT TO NEUTRAL. Then I do it then go back into drive and after awhile it might say "GEAR-LOCK ACTIVE SHIFTING NOT POSSIBLE" then beep and say "DEPRESS BRAKE". Also, the rpms and oil pressure starts bouncing all over the place... Nothing has ever been done to it aftermarket wise, nor has anything ever needed repaired on it yet. Only thing thats been done is PM's. Any ideas would be great, thanks.

Just wondering if cruise control circuit might play a role in these "dash announcements"?

Oddly, it is doing it even without cruise control, ESPECIALLY climbing hills where more power is needed. If I coast it doesnt do that but it'll continue at random when the gas peddle is depressed.

Jiggle that key switch, "Starter Blocked....", almost sounds like your starter circuit is trying to engage, visually check the starter area/wiring.

    trkrjim Thanks this.

Might want to pull some paneling around your throttle pedal to see if you have any wiring chaffing (I assume its all electronic, no manual linkages).

Might want to check the key switch area also (behind dash).

Some trucks have a small micro-relay that controls that circuit, even new I guess it could be defective.

Unfortunately no, been to the Dealer twice in two states and after 5 days one time and one day in the shop another. They say nothing is wrong. Oddly enough mine did it for about a month off and on and hasn't done it in a couple of weeks. Idk what is wrong
