First startup its 40-50 at idle. When up to operating temp its 15-20 at idle and anything over 800rpm when its warm its 35-40psi. Perfectly normal for a cummins. They are low pressure engines compared to others.

nunofreddy Thanks this. -
Cause I've noticed this ever since the pipe of the exhaust broke right now cause I'm do to do service in 3k miles yesterday I was going 70 to 73mph fighting lots of wind through i20 going towards el paso and my oil pressure was 35-36 when I do fresh oil change it's at 40. Noticed this 2 weeks now cause the pipe was 2 weeks when I was on my way to los Angeles

I've noticed when the oil temp goes to 230 to 240 its when it drops to that once it cools down to 220 it goes back to 38psi I got 12k miles on the oil that might just be the problem at what miles are you guys changing the air filters for the breathers? I checked mine at 70k miles they still looked new now I got 96k on the truck next oil change I'm changing them
-
Yes hot oil will run lower pressure. Im at 151,000 on my factory air filters and they wont pull over 1" of restriction no matter how hard I try. I change oil once a month or so which is 9-13,000 miles or 250-500 hours. I have a lot of PTO time on my truck and run around the northwest at 105,000 gross all the time so I over service the truck hoping for it to last longer.
nunofreddy and Hegemeister Thank this. -
Did any of you guys have problems with your steering? My mechanic says my kingpins have play cause at 70 mph my steering wheel is shaking #### only 96k miles and they're bad I guess do you guys know if peterbilt covers this?
-
Im running 385/65r22.5's on my steers and she is smooth all the way to 80mph.

I got the 24.5 rims once I'm hitting 65 and above the steering wheel shaking had my mechanic check it said the kingpins have play maybe they came defective same how I had to replace the drum and brake pad from the driver side steer cause it was sitting out of the drum like an 1/8" I think it screwed up when dot gave me a level 1 and to test my brakes they put me on rollers and they tell you to press on your brakes really hard to stop the rollers lazy f5cks didnt want to measure
