    Hey guys.

got this westernstar 4900 with a isx engine that is having turn signal issues. Last night truck lights were doing all sorts of weird thing. When right turn signal was on I had back up lights flashing. When left turn signal was on I had all the turn signals flashing.

the two hood marker lights and rear turn signal lights were on with key on lights off.

I had constant power going to reverse light circuit. I ended up pulling the reverse light fuse and turn signals started to operate correctly

clearly there is a short somewhere but I didn’t have time to dig into it.

truck ran today and half way through the day I lost all left turn signals. You turn the signal on. It the indicator stays solid but I get no signals on truck.

I will be back at this truck in a day or two to figure it out but I have a couple questions.

first one: on a newer truck like this is there a reverse light switch mounted on top of transmission?

second what controls the turn signals? Is there some sort of controller behind the dash? If so what is it called and what is the location?

I know it very well could be a bunch of melted wires together but I also want to rule out the controller and reverse light switch

    thank you in advance.

If you have a trailer connected did you try and unplug it?
