I have 2019 volvo bought it brand new and at 33,000 miles it was missing 2.5 gallons of oil. At that time I did an oil change and now 49,000 miles its missing one gallon of oil and i did notice i started dropping down slowly about 10k after the oil change let me mention that the manufacturer says that oil should be changed every 60,000 miles so now I am going back and fort with volvo but they seem like they are not interested in helping me so far they have told me just to keep a track of how much oil I am adding. Has anyone have something like this happen to them and I need advice what to do? Thank you for help

    What engine do you have?

From now on keep detailed record of mileage and hrs of when you are adding oil and how much. Make sure you are checking often. It is most likely that according to the engine manufacturer your oil usage will be considered to be within acceptable limits. You need to have records for if and when it gets worse or continues a trend for a problem to be taken care of under the engines warranty. Make sure the dealer is completing your oil service and your using the approved oil for the engine atleast as long as your still having issues.

It is not uncommon for new engines to consume some oil until broken in. The harder you work the engine the better the oil usage should get if ring seating is the issue at hand. Long idle time and light load conditions are going to make it worse. Bottom line ..........have the records or you will never get anywhere with the problem if one exists.

The engine is D13 somebody did tell me that its normal for engine to burn some oil at the break in but in my opinion this is too much. So if it burned 2.5 gallons of oil at 33k if I went to 60k to change oil it would probably burned through 4-6 gallons I think thats too much and yes the Volvo service did change my oil.
