Hi guys
I have 2020 Freightliner cascadia, 185k miles on it,
at the first try truck cranks but wont start, always at the second try it starts,
I took it to dealership, they replaced the MCM, after 1 week same issue.
What do you think?

... we think you need preemission truck

Freddy57 Thanks this.

Not sure how emissions would make the truck not start, but sure......
Are u simply turning it over to soon after turning the key on? I know cummins have an electronic fuel pump that helps with this, I don't dd15 do?
My DD15, won't even try and start unless I let everything cycle through upon turning the key on.... -
Thank you for your answer,
Im turning ignition on and waiting for 10 seconds the lights are going off and I’m starting the truck, it cranks at first try but won’t start. It usually starts at the second try.
So yesterday I was on the road and white smoke came from turbo pipe, I had truck shut down immediately,
So I took my truck to dealership they’re saying the starter got stuck in gear engaged, that’s the reason but I don’t think this is what caused the white smoke. I’m pretty sure it has some kind of fuel system problem, they just can’t find or something I don’t know.
Like they be replacing random parts because it’s under warranty, or they don’t have good mechanic.
If you know any good diesel mechanic in Milwaukee area please let me know maybe after dealership I can take my truck there. Thank you.Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
I'm late to this but there is a little black plunger next to rear fuel filter. Try priming that about 100 times if the filters were just changed
-
You need to run away screaming from whomever is wrenching on your truck.
Sounds like a losing prime issue. Pretty common with DD15 if you had a numb nuts that did the last fuel filters.
Could even be the pump, but that's a bit of a reach.
I've only heard of a handful of bad injector cups in Detroits.strongtrucker Thanks this. -
It’s probably bad fuel system, let’s see what happens I’ll keep you guys posted maybe it helps somebody someday.Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
Hi guys
Dealership replaced the starter and told me that truck has same issue, it’s not running right.
And today they said they ordered new MCM which they already replaced 2 weeks ago, so this is gonna be second MCM.
These jobs are done under warranty, but they still don’t wanna fix the problem (it’s easy job probably something is wrong with fuel system)
So in this case what actions can I take? if I take truck to an independent mechanic it’s gonna be out of warranty.
Is there any legal action that I can take?
They don’t fix the problem they are just wasting my time.
Any advice? -
a.k.a.
W.W.Williams are also factory Detroit Haus.
They can do same warranty, and any work Freightsnaker dealer can do. Their work carries the same warranties as well.
They're nation wide.
Just Google for location.
