I have my truck at kw and they just uploaded this and said they sent it to the engineers to get a repair plan put together. I have no idea what im looking at and the notes i can see are very vague.
Does anyone know from these images how bad it is? To me it just looks scratched. Cam is toast.

What sort of oil change interval are you running?

I havent, I just bought that truck last month and its been at the shop since. It had an oil leak so the arrows prefered mechanic said it was a cracked oil pan and replaced it. I drove it for a week and it was still leaking so i took it to an experienced paccar mechanic who told me to take it to the dealer cause it was most likely a camshaft. Been at the dealer since april 3rd.
Does that mean theyre replacing that cam or will it need a new motor?

Will likely get a new cam and lifters. Main bearings look ok.

Repairs should be covered under 7yr 700k

Engine will have to come out and it will likely be down for a 3-4 weeks.

Kw informed me 2 hrs ago the engineers are asking for information of how it was driven ecm etc... are they trying to say I caused this when I haven't even put 5k on this truck?
They also said that the air compressor head needs to be replaced being its blowing coolant out the overflow for 4000 bucks and its not warrantied and apparantly arrow is denying the claim also.
I should never have bought a paccar.

Air compressor / head failure is not covered under major component coverage and only under base/ extended engine. The failure is common.

If the engine is allready out for the camshaft. The air compressor should be an easy fix while out.

    Alexp2686 Thanks this.
