I have a 2020 W990, spec sheet showed 17,824 lbs, came out of the factory at 17,220 lbs. I weighed the truck as soon as it showed up at the dealership before anything was done to it, had a quarter tank of fuel when I weighed it. I’m not sure why the difference in the weight, I was the first owner operator to order and take delivery of a W990, maybe they didn’t have accurate weights for the 990 at beginning of production. I know when I ordered the previous truck, 2015 T660 the delivery weight and build weight was within 20 lbs. My specs, 2020 W990 265” wheelbase 76” mid roof sleeper MX13 Paccar auto shift Dana D40-155 PS Advanatek40 axles, 2.79 ratio 10-5/8 x 3-1/2 x 5/16 frame rails Disc brakes all the way around 445 x 50 x R22.5 Michelin X One Grip drive tires Low pro 22.5 Michelin steer tires Steel 5th wheel with Teflon inserts with 24” of slide Fuel tanks 90 gallons driver side, 150 passenger side 31 gallon def tank All options available for the cab and sleeper including doors with windows on both sides of the sleeper and a single bunk with the shelf system on the back wall of the sleeper. Don’t think I left anything out, this is how I specked mine out to get as light as possible, the wheel base was just long enough to install a Carrier APU on the passenger side frame rail. Thermo King may require a few more inches. Delivery weight was prior to APU install.
I hear it’s shown with a 1/4 tank of fuel? I guess what I really need to do now is see how much these aero trucks weigh with a 53 Great Dane/ TK unit set up and compare my set up.
Beef that up, 13.2 may sound great but get a 15 or 18k axle. The only thing that will limit you than will be tires.
If you’re thinking about a 680 or 990 the 510/1850 MX13 will save you 5-600 pounds or so versus the X15. To answer your earlier question about rears, to me it does just fine in the mountains at 80k gross.
Yeah, and getting any weight on the front axle! With my fifth wheel all the way forward, if I get 11,000 on my steer, I'm being lucky!
