What’s the issue with the switches? Some light up and some don’t? The only thing I can relate to is when they said some don’t do anything when you flip them. I just figured their truck was ordered with some spares. I ordered 4 spares in my Peterbilt and when you flip them the switch lights up like normal but there’s no wire going to anything on the back of it.

I have been happy overall with mine, but I’m man enough to say they have their quirks and they are largely living on a reputation they had 30 years ago. I suppose that can be said about them all. -
I’ve had a few switches fail, I’ve had several spade connectors not make good contact, I’ve had the A/C rheostat fail, the paint inside the hood emblem chipped out in the first month, two speed lock out valve failed in the first 6 months, wheel sensor failed and a connector going to the abs module, the def heater manifold, lots of little things. Nothing major, and I love the DD16. But western star is far from what it was before freightliner bought them and aren’t worth the premium price. In my opinion. Warranty did handle most of these issues but that isn’t the point.

Sounds like a perfect example of the new generation right there.
Sounds like you should have bought a Volvo with an automatic transmission and a GPS on the dash.
