2023 New Cascadia w digital dash & second screen. 3k miles on it. I can enter the time on clock accessed from the second screen, but it does not save. The truck time never changes past 12:00. The clock not changing eventually causes a check engine light. Freightliner techs have never seen this before and have changed out several modules w no success.
The bigger problem is if you keep rolling w the clock error, they fear the truck will get more confused with no clock/time to manage things like hours in service so it will at some point shut the truck down.
The truck has been down for 5 days at Freightliner and I want to know if others have seen this and or if you can say what the resolution was. I have to get this truck rolling and this is killing me.
Any Help appreciated.

AFAIK, no truck keeps track of your HOS and will run indefinitely until it runs out of fuel.
That being said, this might help.

This is a great start thank you. I don’t really understand why the clock is so important but they are saying if it’s not functional it will impact other systems and potentially shut the truck down. I can’t imagine something a driver could fiddle around with could wreak so much havoc, but because the clock isn’t even running maybe that is the bigger problem. Maybe it doesn’t even matter what time it is, it’s counting seconds and that adds up to what the truck is monitoring. #### frustrating to have this display on the market and mine is the ONLY truck with this clock problem after multiple module replacements that test as good?

Whoever is telling you that, doesn't understand the system of the truck. The timing clock has nothing to do with the engine hours & the ecm monitoring the engine. Electrical problems in themselves can be a headache to find the root of the problem. You can always just tell time using the sundial

I wish I knew why it triggers a check engine light. Freightliner engineers are working directly with the dealer shop. They are making it sound like a big deal.

I hate being ground zero having just picked up this truck a week ago to be a Freightliner Guinea pig

Set to a 24 hour clock.
-
I don’t recall if it had that option. I would think it would but on the touch screen it was all rolling scrollers a the last one is AM or PM.
-
I’ll add that if there is a way to switch to 24 hr, it doesn’t lock in the saved change of clock setting anyway. Sure you can scroll the numbers but save/set doesn’t actually do it. This is trying all different conditions including just sitting with just ignition/ accessory on without engine running.
