Got a wild hair up my ### and have been searching around for companies with load boards with a lot of freight to keep me home close to TX. Swift surprisingly has shown up. From what I have gathered it's only L/P and O/Os that have access to it. When you search for 23-24 year info a whole bunch of nothing shows up. Here or otherwise. So give it to me straight.
1. Do you guys actually get to pick from a load board these days, or is the ad just a bunch of BS and you are still dispatched by a DM?
2. If you do get to pick your loads, what are the typical rates if you wanted to run TX to TX only loads.

Called recruiting today. No load board, maybe up and running by late Spring.
Well I guess that answer's that lol.

Frankly I don't believe Knight has any intention of ever delivering a load board. As it is right now Swift is dumping a lot of freight out on the power only spot market.
Swift had pretty good O/O program with access to a broker, where you could negotiate your own rates. Knight killed it they day they took over ... it was the major driving factor why I left Swift.unloader Thanks this. -
Load board is now active on swift. O/O only access. I’m company so I don’t have access just letting you know it is up

I put an end to that very early in my career with Swift.
I simply refused to do it, as it was unsafe to be driving all night after being up all day waiting for a load.
The trick is to know how to say no, and stick with it. They can not force you to drive.
One of the reasons I have stayed with Swift as long as I have is because I have so much control over the loads I run.
Control that, by the way, Swift grants us with the wonderful mac 9.
1. Accept the load. 2. Refuse the load (with a stated and valid reason). 3. Counter the times on the load, and hope for the outcome you desire.
Every option gives me some degree of control.Atlanta trucker, JOHNQPUBLIC and dptrucker Thank this. -

Too many newbies don't know because their mentor never told them, and/or their DM is pushing them, and/or they are too dim to figure it out.
I consider Swift a great company, mainly because of the people I have worked with.
My DM's have always watched my back and supported me all the way. I guess I have a charmed life. -
