I did a little math and it comes out to .32 a mile off the hub 4,000 x .21 = $840 / per diem $55 x 8 days =$440 + $840=$1,280, 4,000 x.32 hub miles = $1,280

I did it for a couple months but then figured out it was not benefiting me and lowering my taxable income wasnt needed since I have a family and it would not be worth it for tax returns. Plus it lowers the amount taxes for social security etc, I can see it benefiting an O/O a lot more than a company driver since O/O needs more deductions. -
Also, if you do come across a truck driver with 17 + years experience, with an excellent driving record, earning 21 cents a mile, I TRULY and GENUINELY hope that you would help this individual get a much better paying job, possibly with better benefits to go along with it.
It could very well be that you may be the only connection in the entire world that could help this particular driver out of this predicament.
God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.! -
I started with a bottom feeder, .25 CPM. That was beginning of 2011. At .42 now, I don't know why people actually consider jobs like that after 6-12 months OTR experience. It's rediculous.

Please consider I am getting ready to go to training, so my questions/comments are because of inexperience.
If the company has mandatory per diem and they are using 12cpm and they take an administrative fee of 2cpm do I get to add the 2 cents they took from me and put it into what remained of the daily 80% per diem I might not have used?
Example: drove 100 miles all day. Per diem from company = $12.00. Company takes $2.00. I net $10.00. Let's say per diem is $50/ day.
Do I take 50-12=38 OR 50-10=40? As far as I am concerned I should take the 10. If the company charges me 2cpm for administrative fees, then then I should get the 2 cents taken from me and add it back into the daily allowance ($40) $40+2= $42 per diem on that day.
How is it that they are getting away with theft?? If I have the option to accept or decline per diem, then charging me for taking the per diem OPTION is is fair.
I hate to say this, but when will the companies start charging drivers for their paycheck? -
I'm on % for OTR work and it varies from a low .37 cpm to a high of $.67 cpm, depending on the load.
