Go for it, I skipped out of college to drive and am much happier now than I would be if I had stayed in to get my bachelors, masters, Dr. I make a comfortable living and know that I am earning what I make. Sounds like you have a good local run here.

Something else to consider unfortunately- a Bachelors degree now is like a HS Diploma 20 years ago. Now, you need a Bachelors to get virtually any decent job- higher pay jobs are all asking for a Masters degree because so many people have Bachelor's degrees.

I really don't know where to come down on this one- I'm all about education first, but with the economy now, I wonder if it isn't better to make the money now while it's there.

On the same note, with the economy now, how long will your perfect scenario last? Will it crumble and leave you wishing you had something to fall back on?

If you're going to figure the cost right then you need to know what the cents per mile and dollars per hour come out to be. Cents per mile are the operating costs and dollars per hour is what it cost for the driver.

You need to be real specific to get the right picture. Until you have those figures, you're just guessing.
