granted my truck rides very low, the flatbed i pulled thru LS had 22.5LP tires also and I was able to load a 9' tall piece and still be legal at 13'6" overall height. It came in a handy a couple times

Michelin makes their LP is a 275/80/22.5

All other makes are a 295/75/22.5

They come out to the exact same size.... I only run Bridgestone's

17.5 Lets you pile it higher and the tail may be level with your truck

Not on a flat (obviously) but I see them on steps....the deep drops, or low deck steps or whatever you want to call them. They usually have a 29" drop IIRC. We had one years ago but we don't run them because we couldn't keep brakes on them. So the solution is to add a tried axle and then the weight goes up. So we bought a low deck with LP255/75R22.5 + wheel wells and we were happy enough to by a second one.

And to answer the original Q....all our SD and DD are 255-75-R22.5

I had a 50ft drop deck years ago it ran 17.5s and had a 32" ride hight 40ft bottom and 10ft top with a 18" king pin the trailer didn't even have a jack you could just block it dump the air and drive off, it come from John deer in la it had new brakes when I first got it and I had to put a set at 80,000 miles

The big problem I ran into was 17.5s were crazy hard to find (not sure if it's like that now) and the fact the top deck was 42" taller than the bottom deck so you couldn't get levelers I sold it to buy the step I have now in 2005

I know that, Bayou was asking about tires for his flatbed and kwloo threw out the 17.5 size.... I was baffled. I've seen them on SD before many times.
