Well I've been in college 3 years know two cs majors one my cousin 31 and another a friend 24 neither one of them makes more than 40k a year my cousin recently lost two of her last cs jobs because it's cheaper to outsource them the other waited two years after graduation to actually get a shot at a job in the field and we are in Atlanta pretty big job market so I would suggest going back to school but maybe not cs more like logistic and supple chain management you already have some experience in that field plus those jobs pay decent and are pretty secure because thing have to move from one place to another and someone has to physically be there to oversee that it happens plus if you wanna start your own business you just learned the whole system in school. Just my $.02
22 w/ 40k saved... what do I do with my life?

Start a family, take them out on the road with you, and put them to work.

40K saved?
Put 10 into Silver Eagles and a safe to keep them in. The spread ratio to Gold is approaching or at 80 to one instead of the Natural 15 to one.
The other 30? 20 into Gold. Keep 10 in the bank against whatever that comes up like a broken radiator, medical bill etc. Buy a safe for the Gold Eagles and keep them in your home. NOT a bank deposit.
Do be very careful what you do in your life time. you are young and I would expect you to be successful in whatever you do. There is probably 99 of 100 people your age who do not have the resources you do. That should parlay into a good future.
Watch the wimmen close. Do not let them hollow you out. That would be the one thing that gets some people. -
6' - 150lbs.... I'd buy some food, man, your ribs are sticking out. Haha. (I'm 5'10 - 190lbs)

I get tired reading these grand ideas. Feel sorry for those who don't get it.
Look kid, 5 to 10 trucks gets you at best 12% return on your money unless you are involved daily. Which means that you won't make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year off of them.
It is better than an Ira but then I can't see how anyone can have an Ira that is not directly managed because they get at best 3%.
The problem is this. To put people in trucks, you have to work, to get a good manager you need to work. It isn't easy to do this right and most don't. and for those who are making money now will not in the future.
By the way op. I just purchased a 15 truck trucking company that was in distress, the owner could not even pay his drivers. He had some older trucks, some newer ones, his own authority and everything that would bring money into everyone's pocket but he ran it into the ground, had crappy drivers who ran a few trucks into junk and so on. He wanted $X and after I went through the books, I offered 1/2 of what he was asking and heard nothing for a month than out of blue he called and said sold. His selling price would have put any one in the red too long so I took what needed to be done and took that off the price. I still gave more than I should but to help him out, I made the offer and got it, next week the LLC will become part of my company, the trucks will be moved into different companies or sold (a couple will be scrapped) and five drivers will be looking for work.double yellow and Mike2633 Thank this. -
If i only knew than what i know now, like the saying goes do what u love and u'll never work a day in ur life.to me being happy now is living debt free,no mortgage no big bills no car payement etc so if im in ur shoes i will keep trucking for a couple years, pay cash for a nice small house for my future family, two more years for college money by the time ur 28 29,ur ready to start a family and any half decent job will be more than enough.also any local driving job will do.whats the use of money if ur a slave to it.the warmth of my wife smile and the love in my kids face is worth to me more than anything so wasting any second away chasing an extra dollar is a second i regret everytime i hit the road. My ultimate dream is rebuilding trucks in my own garage in my own house in my own time.
My advice to you is follow ur dreamsfordconvert and Weeezerd Thank this.
