    So I'm running up I35 North Thursday night im South of Austin I keep hearing this Big radio I hear it for about 15 mins solid. So this driver comes by me predator stick hanging off the right side. I tell him he cleared me. Turns out he's the big radio. He starts bragging he's running A Galaxy 66 hooked to a 2200 watt linear ok exaggerated numbers I'm sure. I don't believe anything till i see it. Point is he starts breaking up and outta my receive within 5 miles. I'm thinking ya gotta be frickin kidding me. Would not have believed that If it didn't happen. RABBI IS obviously right there are people/drivers out here running 1000 watts and can't talk 15miles. This guy can't talk over 5 miles running 2200 watts....... UNREAL

    So what if he is running gigawatts. If he is deaf as I am what does it matter?

    I'll stick with my bone stock pc76xl and wilson antennas in the mirrior;

    And more than likely splatter 5 channels up/dwn.....

    I have seen that crap before, back then there was a guy with a red gmc sonoma running around Malvern/Heth Arkansas he had publicity for the radio shop at the 106, whenever he was around i mean within 5 miles nobody could talk from 1-40 once he was out of the 5 miles range he was gone.

    I hear you. I really do.

    Im not a big radio man. I do not know much about bragging over thousands of watts. I think you can talk to 150 miles out with a CB radio legally. If you have the room to do it.

    Regarding the interference all over the channels and I-40, I have a problem with that. Despite my joking around. It's not nice. It's bad. It's rude see? I hate it when pigs splatter stuff on the radio.

    You would think we would be into digital transmission aka cell phone frequency vehicle to vehicle by now... instead of old style analog frequencies of what? 22 Megahertz on the FM side?

    It not the watts that make you splatter,its all in the amp/radio tune and match..

    Just another case of say x force telling people they get 2200 watts outta their straight 8 pill. A straight 8 you will/can get 1600 of clean watts. Anything more than that it's all splatter box watts. And it's being over driven one way or another. No telling what he actually had in that truck linear wise. But a Galaxy 66 and a 2200 watt box make no sense in itself.

    Doubt it.

    If it is distorted, then there are a couple reasons for it, one is overdrivng the amp which is common. The other is a crap design which is even more common.

    Got a popular junk amp in trade, it is one of these amps made under a famous name, won't name it. However it is just pure crap, it looks pretty, it is put together really well but on the bench it was very very dirty and took only 3 watts to become a crap amp.

    Think he said it was a No Name Amp but I'm not sure of that. Anyway like I say no way of knowing what he really had in there unless it's been seen on a bench or something. But point definitely TAKEN
