Honesty.
Trucking is changing.
It's been good to me, but I've missed so much.
You've already stated that you have a mother in failing health, so that is a priority. You don't want to be in Arizona when she needs you and some 22yo load planner takes three weeks to get you even remotely close to home... and it's too late.
IT WILL HAPPEN.
My advice is, if you have the competency for it, work during the day and go to school at night and weekends for nursing or something in the medical field.
I'd highly suggest Radiology.
Those jobs are in demand and are very well paid. You'll always have an income and it will always be increasing.
In trucking, you'll have opportunity.
You'll make money with GREAT sacrifice. You'll possibly get married.
Then divorced. Then married. Then divorced.
This lifestyle is hardest upon the ones left at home. They're lonely.
If you just HAVE to do it.. get your CDL and take online courses to get your base in the med field before you go home to finish.
You're 23!!!
I've got pants that old.
Use your brain!!!
Right now is when you'll make a decision that will affect the rest of your life.
At least, for God sake, go to the community college and talk to an advisor.
