Not very. Most states have a tolerance for axle and gross. If someone wants to be an a hole it's not going to cost you much at all. 240 lbs is not worth the paperwork.

What’s in the trailer ?
I had a load of ceramic tiles , I just walked about ten cases from front to back of the trailer.starmac, randomname and Studebaker Hawk Thank this. -
Careful. Not all trailers are created equal. Some have the holes further apart and/or less of them.Cabinover101, roshea and bzinger Thank this.

Well, in my world that would mean my last stop must be a few skids of batteries or chemical totes.starmac, FlaSwampRat and stayinback Thank this.

I was overweight in Maryland on my drives by 640lbs. The ticket I got was $54. Cost me an inspection too. No hits anywhere else. Paid the ticket that night online before it went into their system. No record of me ever being ticketed. That was this pass May.Last edited: Oct 26, 2019

I did get a ticket on overweight trailer tandems. Ticket in Oklahoma.
I had weighed in Laredo at Cat Scale. Thought I was ok?
I admit I had reason to doubt this. Probably should have reweighed elsewhere. Away from Laredo. But...
Cat Scale paid the ticket.
Yup.... their guarantee is good.Cabinover101, Dino soar, MACK E-6 and 3 others Thank this. -
