What does this even mean? Ford is expecting a 2 billion dollar negative impact due to tariffs? That could mean they are gonna raise the price and expect less sales or so many other things that can go into a headline. I know ford also said they will not be raising the prices since my dealer sent me a letter on it. So they will most likely eat some of the cost and the supplier will as well. They are too big to take the full hit and will require the supplier to or move it back to USA. It is a win no matter what for the consumer and USA economy.

Personally me no. However businesses are impacted, you can read the posts on previous page. It might not have impact on me, however it might have impact on many businesses, farmers are one great example which is very simple to understand for most folks. There will be many holes in the US economy which will cause bankruptcies, or we will print more money to cover the holes up temporary. I won’t be surprised if new “terrorist” group is discovered and we go into war with Iran in the near future. It always seems to “boost” the economy and get people’s minds off the failing economy which we have seen in the past few times already.

From an article in the WSJ
Ford expects to lose about $2 billion in 2025 due to U.S. tariffs on imported vehicles and parts, which resulted in an $800 million expense in the second quarter alone. These costs, in addition to other issues like recalls, contributed to a net loss for the company in Q2 2025 despite record revenue. The tariffs create a "headwind" that restricts future investments and investment in expansion in the U.S., according to Ford CEO Jim Farley.

It's so easy to blame the tariffs and not the so overpriced low quality product they are trying to sell.

The 2 billion has nothing to do with their sales or products. It is simply the amount of additional tariffs they are paying this year.

So they’re eating the tariffs, which earlier you stated businesses don’t do that and the prices will go up. Thing is they jacked prices up during Covid and have been selling high priced junk ever since. Sort of hard to raise the price on a pickup to compensate for tariffs when there are already car lots full of $80k vehicles that aren’t selling.

I did not say that businesses were not eating the tariffs right now. Many businesses are - me for example- I said Americans, businesses and consumers, are the ones paying.

you clearly did not pay attention to the last 3.5 years. No reason to worry about changes for the good now.

Other issues are included. Let's only deal with facts on the Tarriffs. So what did they cause in loss? And because a loss is on a statement doesn't mean a real loss, since lots of stuff can be written off and made to look like a loss in that year. Without real facts into the Books articles mean nothing. Why did they throw in other issues?

The over priced junk wasn't selling long before tariffs, dealership lots on just about every piece of equipment made has been fuller than full for two years now, they can blame the tariffs all they want but a 50-80% price hike during COVID and high interest rates put us in this situation now, it has nothing to do with tariffs
