Any of the larger places will pretty much consider you a beginner or want you to drive with a trainer.
    I could not do it!
The company i'm with now i found on Craigslist. I explained i had a little recent local experience but was an O/O back in the 80's and a company driver for 20 some years.
They gave me a quick road test and hired me on the spot.
We have assigned trucks, take it home on off time and run a dedicated account with keys to all of our stops.
Off every weekend and home a night or two during the week....
No E-logs,no tracking on the trucks and never see the boss!
They email us our routes,i pick up the trailer and go.

Hang in there and don't jump on the first offer would be my advice.

    Wargames Thanks this.

First off i would like to thank everyone who replied to my post....any time we can help out another driver we should....ITS CARMA...

    Any way...i am now looking at 3 offers..maby 4...

The first offer is WEL companies There pay is .44 CPM One week orientation in GreenBay WI
The second offer is PGT I think it was at 29% of the load one week orientention and 2 weeks with a trainer
The third offer is with Paul Miller trucking They have a sliding pay scale per mile..one week orentation...and they have an account 3 miles from my house that delivers every day...they can get me home every weekend
the fourth it TMC they are looking for reginal drivers at .42 CPM.and their yard is in the next town....one week orientation in IA....

I have read a lot of negitive posts about all theis companys...every company is going to have unhappy drivers it is just the nature of the biz until we all as drivers stand together and demand the b/s stops it will continue the federal government is holding us as drivers to a higher standard but not the companys.....Hell will freeze over before that happens

Thease offers are what i am looking at....i was told i can be in the next class at WEL,PGT,and Paul Miller. TMC needs me to send in my W2s for one of the places i worked at that went out of buinsness for varication......I dont think PGT exictes me only because of the 2 weeks of training...whare i have been driving for 28 years and a lot of flatbed and RGN with heavy equipment,,,I dont think i need any training any advice would be appreaciated Thanks

If you have to go with those choices to get your foot back in the door i feel for you.
It just sucks an experienced driver should have to consider that route.

Worst case scenario is do one year with them then start looking for a better deal.
Myself,I held out and refused to go to any big company that looked at me like a rookie.
I was told by many of them " you are not qualified".....I laughed and told them where to stick their job too!

Keep looking for that small company!
Best of luck to you and i hope you find something.
