Any advice on this route? I have time to kill, and thought it would be scenic. I'm at 77k gross . Otherwise it'll be the boring 25/80 westbound.

It's been quite sometime since I've been that way but that was the standard route to take at the time. Going through Ft. Collins was a little slow at times but it's a nice ride. Things might have changed though maybe someone else can chime in.

Its not a bad route. Kind of hilly and curvy but nothing outrageous. I don't know how it would be in snow. the only times I ran it was summer time. Ft Collins traffic was bad.

thx guys... at the RS x268 i-25. gonna give it a go. weather's great today. will report back .

That's a good road, at least in the warm months. It probably shaves off some good miles. I had a rig quit on me once on that road, so I remember it well. A fuel filter clogged on me and I had to change it out right on the side with no shoulder. Plus, it was a Cat engine, so I had to fill the new one and work the priming pump a few times with traffic whizzing by.

I have run that road MANY times. It CAN be hell in the winter though so be careful! Other than that, no problems...

Only saves 17 miles to go thru Ft Collins and up 287. And probably takes another 20 minutes longer in a truck.
The city of Ft Collins is doing all they can to discourage truck traffic from using that route.

I don't use that route in a truck unless I HAVE TO. -

I couldn't find that link in my search. But that name is what I needed.
