I hooked up my step deck to peterbilt and its pretty low to the ground due to peterbilt being car hauler with low leaf suspension , original tire size was 255/70r22.5 , i switched to 295/75 and still lower than with my t660 . I was wondering whats the height difference between 295/75r22.5 and 11r24.5 ? Cons and pros doing this ( climbing hills .. etc ) , is it possible finding someone who wants to go from 24.5 to 22.5 ( probably not )
295/75r22.5 vs 11r24.5 height , pros and cons

24.5 is only 1" higher off of the ground than 22.5.

255’s are ruffly a 36”, the 295’s are ruffly a 40” tire, the 11r24.5 is a 44” tire. You will be loosing close to a full gear going to the taller tires. I would look at going with the tallest legs available for your 5th wheel or adding a steel riser block between the 5th wheel frame and the truck frame before going with taller tires. Easiest thing to do is put a tape measure on the 660 and get the 5th wheel height with the plate sitting level and then get the same measurement on the pete and raise the 5th wheel to match with spacers.
And for the record your pete probably has low low air leaf rear suspension, with a 5” drop front axle as thats their normal suspension setup for car haulers.Bean Jr. Thanks this. -

I run 11.24-5, never had an issue buying them. Just more expensive but you have more rubber/tread. They last longer cuz they turn less revolutions compared to low pros.
