I have a gut feeling you’re referring to a vehicle with ABS brakes? Seems to me the abs would be confused on a car or pickup with different size (tall) tires, 2 wheel drive of course is what I’m speaking of….

    Abs didn't exist in 78.

    Why not 3.36?

There was nothing wrong with the 3.70’s and it was a series 60. I wouldn’t have gotten much done with 3.36 and a 10 speed running around heavy all the time.

With a 18, you can split on the low side and the high side.

I've driven one 13 that split on the low side.

I don't know if the trans was rebuilt and someone F'd up or what.

All the others were high side.
