Blows me away that even as bad as some of these carriers are that they still are able to secure insurance.

Perhaps there should be a conversation about insurance companies enabling these companies to stay in business.

Are they self ensuring someway like the Megas or do they have to find insurance like the rest of us unwashed masses?

From what I was able to find last night their insurance was canceled. I don’t know if it was canceled prior to the accident or immediately after

To be honest I know absolutely nothing about how the self insured works. I’m just assuming they’re purchasing insurance on the open market.

Fmcsa needs to follow vin numbers of those trucks to see where they end up. The owner probably cancelled the insurance because I doubt the insurance company would at the start of what will probably be a huge claim.

They already changed company names once so they probably got something going with another but possibly a relative as the owner. That’s why it’s important to follow the vin numbers

Some just list a few trucks. We see it when we request a list of vin's from the insurance company.
Some have a "radius" policy but run everywhere. Have had one company & one O/O hit by those and their insurance won't pay out of the radius.
Filed a complaint with the FMCSA and the response was as long as the insurance company files the BMC-91(X) meets their requirement.

TheLoadOut, Concorde and Deere hunter Thank this.

I've heard that they were about to be suspended by the insurance at the time of the accident, but have been unsuccessful at verifying that. I would think that would be part of the accident report.

if you go onto the San Joaquin county sheriffs department, jail roster website, and type in the name singh as a last name it’s like Page after Page after Paige with people in jail with that same last name
