That’s a misprint or misinformation on the news media’s part. They are the same crime though homicide is usually a higher offense than manslaughter. That can vary state to state. What they probably have done is amend the charge from one to the other.

 

That post comes directly from the sheriffs office… What they’re doing is there charging a more likely with both so when it goes to trial, he will be convicted of something. The manslaughter charges will be considered the lesser of that’s probably the route that the prosecutors are going down

In Florida vehicular homicide and vehicular manslaughter are one of the same and used interchangeably..there’s no difference unless drugs or alcohol were involved.

It is my opinion based on what you posted that the additional charges of manslaughter are just that. They didn’t call it vehicular manslaughter so this must be just a safeguard put in place.

All the defendant has to really do is say that he never saw them which is quite plausible.
