    Do the math.
You can fit around 100 Washing Machines (or dryers, even more dishwashers etc) on a 53' trailer.
If the freight cost is say $3000 Chicago to LA, that is $30 per $600 machine
if the freight cost is say $4000 Chicago to LA, that is $40. A $10 increase on a $600 purchase.

Do you get my drift? The freight cost on almost any consumer item is a negligible component.
    Don't give me this:
we can't pay enough to attract quality drivers c**p.

Never know he might be a good hand.. these people arent all bad. Ive met some cool foreigners out here even running open deck. Some of them speak perfect english and have good knowledge about safety...Just a handful of them give the whole scene a bad name.

I don’t think it’s so much of a problem that they wanna come over here and work in better their lives I think what really needs to happen. Is there needs to be a crack down on the English proficiency for darn start to drive a truck maybe even drive a car… They’re also needs to be a crack down on foreign people owning companies in this industry and operating the company 100% from overseas just from the looks of it. A lot of those companies are creating a lot of the problems here as well i.e. Chicago… There needs to be a crack down as well on DMV officials who are taking bribes essentially and giving these licenses to these people and government officials all the way, including to the top of the chain of command, including the governor of a state needs to be held accountable for policies, implemented by them that allow this to be done…

Not trying to get political but isn't Trump against Americans losing jobs?

Soo how is it okay to let foreigners flood into the trucking market?

It's time to put an end to non domicile cdls, work visas etc for truck drivers.
    Ban it all.

Only United States citizens can be truck drivers.

The problem is all the middle men. There are a lot of companies that buy those washers from another company who in turn sell to the other guy that sells it to the appliance store who sells it to you. Every one of those companies gets their share of the money, and every one of those companies uses a truck to move it from one place to another.

I work at a wholesale company and I can guarantee the guys who have it figured out are the middle men most of the time. They will sell product they don’t even have because they know where they can get it. It’s quite an interesting racket to try to figure out.

What ever happened to good reporting from the journalists of this country? Everything seems to be cut and paste from somewhere else, sometimes including typos... and very rarely is an "article" more that 2 or 3 paragraphs.... a story such as this could easily be front page headline material and continued at the end of the "business" section.... Man I wish somethings would go back to the way they was when I was growing up.

That's part of cooling off after you tarp in 100 degrees heat. Me too. I get out of all my soaked clothes, put on dry and go barefoot with AC until I can get to safety and a shower.
