“False. Harjinder Singh is in the United States illegally and his work authorization was rejected under the Trump Administration on September 14, 2020. It was later approved under the Biden Administration June 9, 2021,” she wrote on X. “The state of California issues Commercial Drivers Licenses. There is no national CDL. Sincerely, Genius.”
sources said that Singh was on the path to fast-track deportation at the time. The Indian truck driver was even processed for removal from the country back then.
While he was being processed for removal, Singh secured a favourable U-turn on the decision made by the Trump’s government by claiming that he feared being sent back home to India. Consequently, he was released from detention on a $5,000 immigration bond in January 2019 (Trump was still president).
Fear, the get out of jail free card. So he was here illegally and then later got a work permit. So is he here now legally? Sounds like an illegal with a permit. Semantics, a technicality whether he is still illegal or now legal. Does not matter. Should have never been here, should not have been allowed to stay, never should have had a work permit, never should have had a CDL.Cattleman84, Trucker61016, Gearjammin' Penguin and 4 others Thank this. -
He was legally allowed to cross into the US therefore making him legal. If he wasn’t allowed in legally then they would have turned him away at the border checkpoint.
By law he is allowed a hearing and Bozo administration had no say in it. He was allowed in because he was seeking asylum on day one.
Surely he wasn’t let in on a tourist visa and eventually obtained a work permit making him undeniably legal to be here.
Just a bunch of finger pointing going on..would be interesting to find a immigration lawyer that could chime in. -

"He was legally allowed to cross into the US therefore making him legal. If he wasn’t allowed in legally then they would have turned him away at the border checkpoint."
Incorrect. Illegals don't come through border check points.
Harjinder Singh entered the United States illegally through the Mexico border in 2018. He crossed into California, where he was arrested by the Border Patrol shortly after entering the country.
In the USA, immigration status besides Green Card includes:
- Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR) status
- Temporary Visitor status
- Undocumented Immigrant status
- United States Citizen status

Here is something I read a couple days ago and supposedly by an expert..Fox news
“Singh, who entered the United States illegally, was given a full-term commercial driver’s license in Washington in July 2023 despite not legally being allowed to and was given a limited-term commercial driver’s license in California in 2024. The Department of Transportation is looking into whether it complied with federal regulations.”
Read the article, there’s a lot more and it’s very interesting.
