If ur with a bigger company , i learned its best to just call them when ur at a rest area or some place out in the boonies. It will take less time for the road call and tire change than it will sitting at some of the truckstop shops.

My last tire repair I called it in when I was headed into the yard came back in the am, and it was all done, all the air pressures checked and documented by the tire shop. It had a slow leak, caused from a small chunk of metal that strayed into the tread. No repair, our company replaces not repairs tires. Probably the Hazmat thing.

The picture looks like a recap, but I have never seen a super single recap.

Yea they make them. At my last job we got some in to 'test' them. Luckily the shop was smart enough to only use them on trailers.

I have never seen one, and from my limited experience with them, I would not want caps at all.

I can definitely see this. It would have been my last trip EVER. I've had to wait for road service before and it's freaking awful but knowing it's on my time would raise my blood pressure up so high I would probably get a nose bleed lol. I'm glad you ended up getting a free shower and as @D.Tibbitt said...you didn't get stabbed. I know nothing about that area but it sounds like you not getting stabbed made it a decent day at least lol.

I do not know what the first 48 is, but I only stopped at that TA once to get fuel. That was the only place ever that they wanted to hold both my DL and fuel card to turn on the pump, I told them one or the other, but they weren't holding both, so wound up telling them that there are other places to fuel, noooooooo way would I have considered spending the night in that joint, and that was probably some 15 years ago, no telling what it is like today.
