Yep. It's frustrating that all of the personal needs you have as a human must wait until all of the slacker clock-riders have run out of excuses for doing their job as slowly as possible. When the clock strikes the magic time, their day is over. And you get to sacrifice your time at home, time to sleep, shower, eat etc so all of the accumulated DILLIGAF time wasting doesn't cause the original appointment to be missed.

sad state of affairs, when you live in a "hood" that you need roller barriers on all your windows. i guess the thugs found it easy to break into homes with bars on the windows.???

The OP sat there like a dope for hours before attempting to take a shower.

You gotta learn to play the game. Obviously you figured out they comp showers. Next time go into the restaurant and tell them your truck is gettin worked on and try to get them to comp your food.

Dont be one of those mega drivers that hides in his truck and never speaks to anyone. Dont just stay at mega truck stops either. Check out the independent places, sometimes you'll stumble into something fun or interesting. Learn to enjoy your time out on the road. You're not a prisoner to that truck. Check out the What if it Snows" thread. I just posted a pic of my dinner that Im getting paid to eat before I unload later.

When I pulled into the garage, they took my keys and zip tied them to my drivers side mirrors, after chalking my wheels as well even though the garage door was shut. This is the first time I've seen this done. But hey, I was in the hood, I guess drivers are driving off without paying or something? I don't know.

Yes, I had my spare key, but I was not leaving the truck for anything other than a bathroom break when I have my laptop in my truck. It's not one of those super laptops or anything, but for me it was real nice and expensive (about $500).

Yes, I could leave the leave the laptop at home, I have heard from veteran drivers don't bring anything valuable with you. But, it brings me joy and I enjoy having it with me on the road.

I acknowledge that I could have tried to take a shower before I pulled into the garage and before they zip tied my other pair of keys, but I was hoping to take a shower at loves as that's where my points are (so showers are free) and I didn't want to pay the $12-$15 (whatever it is) for a shower at the TA.

Luckily, the kind cashier who gave me the free shower explained to me that with a work order number, I could get a free shower anytime I was in the shop. I now know for the future. Take the free shower right after I check into the shop. Lesson learned.

And yes, going to another truck stop sounds good, but my breakdown department told me to go here. I didn't have a choice in the matter.

Last, do not call me a dope ever again, Hillbilly Deluxe Truck. Thanks.

    Just passing by Thanks this.
