As a WalMart employee, you'll probably get your lisinopril for all of $4/month. Get the prescription, take it for about 10 days, then re-take your physical. Also, get a portable blood pressure cuff for the road. After a month, stop taking the lisinopril for a couple of weeks, and see if your pressure is good.

He just needs to take propranolol an hour before going in and be done with it. You can get a script online for anxiety. Theyre not going to prescribe something like lisinopril. Propranolol is commonly used for these situations. -
This thread has some solid info and some that's not so hot. Remember, there's a bunch of meds for high blood pressure, and each type has its ups and downs. TTR isn't the spot for detailed medical advice. One driver might need an ACE inhibitor, while another can't handle it because of nasty side effects. That goes for Beta Blockers and diuretics too.
A DOT physical is just a quick look at your health right then and there. As we get older, health issues pop up more often. I've mentioned before that many clinics don't measure blood pressure correctly during DOT exams. That's why the 3-month physical is key. It lets you see a doctor, get a real hypertension diagnosis, and start the lifestyle changes they suggest. Usually, the doctor will pick the best med for you based on your health history.
Yeah, annual physicals can be a hassle, but they're necessary for some drivers. All the carriers I've been with covered mine. My family doctor did them for over 15 years. Once, I even got one while bringing my mom in for her appointment. He checked my BP, had a nurse test my vision, did a urine check, and bam, I had a new physical.
So, the bottom line: if you've got high blood pressure, go see a doctor. Don't rely on medical tips from TTR.Rideandrepair, Lonesome, tscottme and 2 others Thank this.
