Last time I drove on OR 97 it was 55.

 

It's 60 for trucks on 97.

One portion of 97 that I know of that has a 60mph speed limit is north from the California line until the bridge near the mill. Then it's 55 until you are near the junkyards and not 55 again until you are well north of the Pilot.

Not sure if it's 60 north of Chiloquin.

Bend to Redmond is 60 for trucks, but slows to 55 again then 45 through town until it's 55 past the Home Depot and not 60 again until north of Madras.

I know it's 55 at the 'Y' split to Maupin as there is a speed limit sign on the right just north of where that road sand is kept and isn't 60 again.

 

Its also 35 in Madras.

 

Some parts of 97 are actually 65mph, and I haven't been on it for nar 2 years.

 

There was dude in shiny new 389 pulling shiny new Calistoga couldn't pedal fast enough to over take Blackie going up that grade on US 189 where it dumps out on 80.

So........about 45 minutes later in the 40mph S curves on 80 he just...........just almost...........smashes some 4 wheeler up against the jersey barrier going around us.

The OM gave him two thumbs up.

He slowed way down after that. Don't know why.
