My boss has 3 trucks leased onto a reefer outfit. He's been there 3 years and I've been in one of his trucks for 1.5 years. The company he is leased onto provides the trailers and the loads. The issue, which has gotten much worse this last 6 months, is home time. Not too little but too much. This company makes us wait for outbound loads from "their" shrinking customer base and will not use broker loads to get us moving out of Florida. So your couple days off that you can afford turns into 5 or 6 days waiting which we can't afford. It's about to financially break my boss. So my questions are should he try to move all 3 trucks to a different company or perhaps send each truck to a different company and test the waters at 3 different companies? The original plan was to send just me but as bad as it's gotten here he now knows he's going to have to move all 3. Sad situation. He knows a dispatcher at Leonard's and is looking into that. I've asked him to check with Mag Carriers also. Any other suggestions public or pm would be appreciated. Thanks

I work at a NC based carrier. We have several small fleets leased on to us. They stay pretty busy and do well financially. We also pass on shop discounts and such to them.

Sadly, I had to throw in the towel today. My boss told me it'd take a month or more to move to another company. I'm being starved out by the Operations Manager of the company he's leased too. I essentially confirmed that when I talked with the Operations Manager this morning. So I chose to turn in my truck. The truck owner can stick where he's at if he wants, but he now needs a driver for the truck I turned in today.
