30 minute break exemption has expired

    That's kinda sad those guys throw their weight around like that... when I got pulled for audit in 2023 the logs they reviewed I used the exemption, provided a copy of my permits on the loads and the auditor was perfectly okay with that... guess I've never got inspected while under the exemption. The company I'm with now don't let us use it

    Whenever they changed it to 30 mins on duty counts it hasn’t really been an issue either

    Because he never heard of it? Those guys need to go back to school, I’ve experienced 2 different dot in 2 different states tell me opposite things.


    One of the worst as far as uneducated on “all” trucks was a woman dot at the west bound scale in Kentucky on I-64 years ago. Truck was a 76 A model Kenworth with hydraulic assist steering…. No not power steering it was hydraulic assist.


    Since the drag link was the control valve for the slave cylinder on the steer axle it had movement for left / right / center, but all she knew was what she had read, no knowledge of trucks at all!! Ended up busting a oring in the control valve because of her lack of knowledge…!
