34 at home ain't enough.
A lot of these companies use as a gimmick now.
WE GET YOU HOME FOR YOUR 34.
Drivers suck it up , don't even realize what the company is doing.
It probably works better than trying to get you home with a load to babysit that has to delv and only leaves you a day an a half at the house.

Out of curiosity what do you consider over the road?
-
Does no one know how to recap anymore?

I was wondering how a 34hr restart became considered home time... if you recap your hours daily, learn the sweet spot, you'll NEVER have to take a 34 - as long as the hours that fall off equate to another full day.Odin's Rabid Dog Thanks this.

They don’t have to equate to a full day, if you get 8 hours back then run 8.
-
That's what I was trying to get at - but trying to even out your days every day gives you the co sistency of what you can do every day... Example: Days when zero or 2 hrs fall off vs. a consistent 8.25Odin's Rabid Dog Thanks this.

Sure, I’m just amazed at how people let that 34 hour thing dictate their lives, if you have 5 14 hour days in a row a recap won’t help. However if your running decent average days you can run without ever taking a 34. I also am amazed at how people allow a company to dictate their lives.

I think the FMCSA has this work week screwed up so bad it qualifies as a Clint Eastwood cluster. They need to scrap it and replace it with a workable system where drivers are safe and the job gets done.

Someone mentioned the other day that if we as drivers can’t agree on a system how can we expect a Congressman to create one that works.hamNbeans Thanks this.
