Turbo broke the shaft on exhaust side motor is a 4ck 3406 c model with peec rated at 460 HP. The part number on turbo is 6I-3172 its a cat turbo , what would match up to this in a different brand or maybe a little better and where to buy or not buy one. The dealer said that cat lists another turbo number and a new personality chip too for ecm. Any info would be appreciated.

I got one overnight from Mr. Haney. Have your serial # from your engine and call him for a BW turbo that will bolt right on and what hp you want.

Was the price reasonable ? Compared to the dealers. ? Want to keep price down. Anybody deal with any online dealers. I'll try and pm Mr. Haney too. Checking out my options.

Im not an expert but I have learned alot about turbos recently. I have a stage 1 B/W turbo on a E motor. I ran into a Cat dealer a few days ago and he recommened a OR-6051 for my application and said it ran around $900.00, But I think my set up would spool quicker. Anyways, that OR 6051 is for a 460, thats why I brought it up. If you use the search button on here you will see that you can use a Borg Warner 198123 for a replacement also. I have ran into a few people recently and have had PEEC turned into a B motor, and use this turbo I describe. Someone on here with more knowledge will come on sooner or later.

Thanks, I didn't want to ask for info if I'm not suppose to. Thought maybe was a problem asking for names of dealers. Local diesel shop said it would be 1200 for B/W and I thought I saw others say they paid around 800 or 900 for them. Just trying to get the most for the least. Lol.

I bought mine from Turbo Supply, They were less expensive than Turbo Exchange. You can google turbo supply for the number.

If yours is a true 460hp 4ck, the BW replacement is a 198123, there is also the 199119 which is a good turbo it may spool a little quicker than the other.

If you want to go to a wastegated turbo the 177148 would be a good choice also.

Does your engine still have the electronic control or has it been converted to mechanical?

Still has peec electronics. I just want to bolt a new turbo on an get running again. What would be the advantage of a waste gate ? Just wondering since it didn't have it originally.
