Hi I had my shop swap in a 6nz where a factory 3406c was in my 1992 379 peterbilt. and the problem now is entire engine is sitting almost 2" forward than where it was with the 3406c making my drive shaft to short actually pulling the carrier bearing out of the rubber it sits in. talked to someone said they should have not been an issue but there are. anyone ever have this problem or know what went wrong with the engine mounts? what part #'s for front motor mount bracket and both rear motor mount brackets should they have used for proper fit

This is just my personal opinion:

If absolutely everything else fits and works 100% perfect (shifter, clutch, hoses, wiring, hood closes with no rubbing, radiator etc), I would just get the driveshaft lengthened.

Yeah that was my first thought but the guy that done swap said he has never had this issue before since they must have made a mistake somewhere just wondering if anyone had done this before and had the same issue and if not what motor mounts did they use ? Just seems wrong to me that engine would be shifted 2" forward

I've done this swap before. Engine mounts are same on both engines.
Basically a bolt in other then electronics.

Not sure what your shop did ?

Does it really matter ?? If all is working as it should have your drive shafts lengthened. It all part of the deal with swaps like that. Its called hidden costs. Sometimes you just gotta roll with it.

so your saying the front engine mount bracket thats bolted to the 3406c engine is the same as 6nz ? because they changed that bracket along with the brackets that bolted to the flywheel housing im thinking there not the right ones thats on it part #'s of the ones you have would be great

As far as I remember they are the same. I never changed anything. Your motor mounts off you C should of bolted right on the the flywheel housing on your 6nz.
    Same for front mount.
    I dont have part #s.

I did this swap 15 years ago with a B model to a E model. Same thing.

Silly question: did the 3406C have a Brakesaver retarder? That would change the transmission mounting if the 3406E didn't have one and the 3406C did. But it'd have shortened it by about 4ish inches, not 2.

The housing is different yes. But the engine mounts should still bolt to it the same.
