3406E Caterpillar Turbo Options/Replacement

3406e Caterpillar, turned to 475hp in '97 379 Peterbilt quad-axle dump truck

I got my hands on a different turbo to put on my 3406e, could someone please tell me if this Cat turbo I have here with p/n 0R6955 (old p/n) / 7w9472 (new p/n) will go on a 3406E engine, or do I need another version/different p/n. I see online where people have said it's not the correct one, that the turbo I have here is for other 3406 trucks, not a 3406e but it fits perfectly as far as the eye can see and there are others that have told me it will work just fine. Please help, I don't want to mess up my newly rebuilt motor because I was misinformed.
