Harmonic Balancer is not a Fluid type.
It's two piece with rubber and it's really wobbling bad.
Is this the correct Balancer or has someone already changed it?
I just had the motor inframed and head replaced and have made a few loads and got to looking at it today with hood down and it's really wobbling bad.
I bought the truck in 2010 and have been running it since. It in a 96 International.
I've seen this before on cars before they come apart.
Is this the same Balancer as the 3406C and/or B?
I assume this is a really early E model or it has the wrong balancer on it.
Can anyone tell me what hp the motor is? I'm guessing 430 or so.
Never been turned up but I would like to.

I took a picture of my balancer and looked it up on the web and the part number it looks like is 2p5149.
It's held on by 6 bolts. Bunch of extra holes.

Not sure but I always thoght the electronic engines had viscous dampers on them. Reguardless thou, get that thing off ASAP before it flys apart and goes through your rad and leaves you stranded some where. Go to cat or peterbuilt or whoever with your serial # and get a replacement. New one will be fluid for sure.
-
This one isn't viscous for sure
-
Like I said. I would Replace it ASAP.
The new one will be fluid. New around $600
At least they were -
Yes , get that pos balancer off ASAP ......
No shop in their right mind would inframe an engine and leave that 2 piece on there...
Some of the 5EK engines have aluminum pistons and can't be just turned up... -
replace it now, I would be afraid to drive it to the shop, it can brake the fly wheel bolts and or the crank shaft.
edit:Vibratech DamperSHO-TYME Thanks this. -
All the pistons have been replaced.
I think the kit was from California.

Honestly, I would be happy with more torque and the same HP. -
I think the cat experts are gone from here.
No one knows the informations asked and no one knows any alternatives to cat? -
What about pdi or Pittsburgh powers balancers? Are they any better than stock?
