I had the check engine, stop engine and fan kicking on a couple years back. I took it in and put it on the computer they said it was the harness..they told me about cutting it and replacing the bad section but it being a 99 I went ahead and replaced the whole thing.. I bought it for less than two humdred if remember right, and did it myself..havent had anymore issues, its also pretty simple to do..hope thats any help...

Replacing the harness on the engine side is a piece of cake if you have the proper ball socket allen wrench. It looks like a allen wrench but the tip is rounded so that you can get into the allen bolt at an angle that secures the harness connector to the computer. The harness has one common power wire that connects a power supply to all of the sensors on the engine. If the fault keeps coming on try wiggling the harness and see if the check engine light comes on.
