Yeah the cam sensor I called it a day just have two bolts to loosen in the morning and get that head to theb machine shop the valve is bent badly. I marked everything and I think all the timing marks match

To ensure you have the engine timed properly to pull the head you should be able to put a 3/8 inch bolt into the flywheel housing hole into the flywheel. The timing marks on the gear and pointer on the cover will line up. The cam sensor should be screwed out to prevent damaging the tip. When you reinstall it first pull the tip all the way out. Remove the o-ring on the sensor and the shim. Insure there is a full tooth visible in the hole for the sensor. install the sensor to snug. This sets the air gap setting. remove and reinstall the shim and o-ring install and tighten. Be sure to remove the bolt from the flywheel housing. This should set you up for success. To fail to do this will damage the flywheel.,

thanks for your help i pinned the engine before taking everything apart. All the marks line up perfectly now i'm waiting for the head to be finished. The machine shop couldn't find a valve Wednesday afternoon so they said the head will be ready by noon tomorrow. if all goes right i should have the truck running tomorrow night. Parts weren't much about 500 for the head gasket set and im still waiting on the snap on guy because my torque is 3/4 dr and i had to use a 1/2 dr with an adapter for the head bolts

anyone know if 5EK heads are the same as 2WS, turns out the valve guide castings are shot and i need a new head. Machine shop guy told me mine head has 2 springs and newer c15s have a single spring.

For that price you could probably just get a reman for cat with waranty for a year. -
My neighbor has a 1lw with 565k for 3500 but the catch is the core charge 2000 and I don't want to give up my block previous owner overhauled it there years ago and truck was stored for a year spent 26k on engine overhaul he went with new block but somewhere along the line someone made a mistake with the #1 intake valve because thats the only one with a different adjuster. I found a used one for 1500 it was rebuilt 100k ago so ill probably go with that one and send it to machine shop just to make sure
