I have a 3406E that I can see the center of the Jake solenoids engage but there is no engine braking. I was hoping some one has an Idea as to what could be going on, or anything i could check.
Thanks in advance.

The simple thing to check is that your switch is good. I've had them go bad a couple of times thru the years. Also make sure that you have good engine oil pressure.

70 Psi of oil on the gauge and i am getting voltage to the ecm from the switch. Cruise works as well what has me stumped is that the little plunger in the center of the solenoid will go in when the throttle is released but the jakes do no engage. Is there an other wires that i should check?
thanks for the thought though -

All the bolts in this engine are necked down to what appears to be the same size.

Yes all are 12 point heads. could all 3 solenoids be bad? I recently replaced the injector cups as there was fuel in the coolant. got it all put back together and no jake brake.

With the engine running push down on the solenoid center manually and look for oil leakage, there should no leakage until you release it then you want to have a rag over the head, The shop I worked at had a Jake head oil preasure guage. You remove the solenoid, then it screws into the solenoid In 20 years I think I used it once. Be sure you are getting oil preasure to the rocker arms, The next thing to check is the seal rings, on the solenoids, then the spool valves and the ball valve spring.
Just a thought! -
I have lots of oil to the rockers. If i push down on the center of the solenoid i have a very small amount of oil out of the top and i mean very small.

i am also getting code 34, 31, 36 when i flash the codes. My ET has the wrong plug for this truck to look at any parameters.
