3406E liner bore corrosion

    Yes but did they dial indicate the deck of block where liners sit? Just sitting liners in and spacerplate is only half of the job of checking a level deck.

    I did not sweep the block with the dial indicator. The surface in the area where the liner sits looked smooth. I cleaned up the surface of block with a smooth stone and WD40 to find any knicks or scratches.

    Pitted liners is generally poor coolant maintenance.

    I, bore & install repair sleeves, in the lower sealing area. I do it in-frame. It completely repairs the O-ring chamfer area. I also repair the area on the deck, where the grommets seat. (In-frame) Cat says if pitted .005" or more, it should be repaired.
