Do you guys ever take your 34 hour re-start while under a load, or do you just simply not book anything until you have enough hours to complete the load?

I am on my 34 now and am loaded. But I would not take a 34 if it would hinder the delivery of the load. That just isn't good service.
I should also add that I pull open deck freight and there are not a lot of customers open on weekends, so I try to do my 34 restart on the weekend.DrtyDiesel and moosc Thank this. -
I have taken restarts at home after loading Friday at a shipper that doesn't load on weekends. It was a 1200 mile trip that delivered Tuesday. I got extra pay for loading early.

Drivers at Moorman Farms in Utica , KY (ran an ad today offering $2,000 hiring bonus) get home every weekend . They usually load in AL or GA Thursday to deliver in OH Monday.
Poultry meal in a hopper bottom. They might also make a delivery to Purina in Nashville on Friday and deadhead home. -
It's happened at times... mostly back during the economic comfubulation a few years ago. If you're taking regular 34's under load, you're working for the wrong outfit.
You DO understand that 34-hour restarts are optional, yes? -
